POLICE SERVICES
Police patrol services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Officers are dispatched via Anoka County 911.
We do provide special traffic enforcement for problem areas within our City with the Selected, Intensified Traffic Enforcement or SITE program. Feel free to call us with special or specific traffic concerns.

Rental Property Ordinance
Below is a summary of the new RENTAL
HOUSING ORDINANCE passed by the Spring Lake Park City Council on
12/19/2005, which took effect immediately. FOR A COMPLETE COPY OF

ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18A
RELATING
TO THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A LICENSEE
RELATING
TO THE CONDUCT OF OCCUPANTS OR GUESTS
The Spring Lake Park City Council
ordains as follows:
Section 1.
Section 18A of the Spring Lake Park
Code is hereby amended by adding the following:
Section 1. Conduct on
licensed premises
It shall be the responsibility of the
licensee to take appropriate action following conduct by occupant(s) or
guest(s) of the occupants which is in violation of any of the following
statutes or ordinances:
a. Minn. Stat. § 609.75 through 609.76, which
prohibit gambling;
b. Minn. Stat. §609.321 through 609.324, which
prohibit prostitution and acts relating thereto;
c. Minn. Stat. §152.01 through 152.025 and S 152.027,
subds. 1 and 2, which prohibit the unlawful sale or possession of
controlled substances;
d. Minn. Stat. §340A.401, which regulates the
unlawful sale of alcoholic beverages;
e. Minn. Stat. §609.33, which prohibits owning,
leasing, operating, managing, maintaining, or conducting a disorderly
house, or inviting or attempting to invite others to visit or remain in a
disorderly house;
f. Minn. Stat. §97B.021, 97B.045, 609.66 through
609.67 and 624.712 through 624.716; which refer to possession,
transferring, carrying, transporting, and/or handling of firearms,
saturday night specials, or antique firearms.
g. Minn. Stat. §609.72, which
prohibits disorderly conduct.
h. Spring Lake Park City Code, Sections 66, 66A-66C
inclusive, 68 and 70 regulating nuisances, disorderly conduct,
prostitution, weapons violations and similar conduct.
i.
Minn. Stat. §609.221, 609.222, 609.223, 609.2231, and 609.224
regarding assaults in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth degree.
Enforcement and
Administration of Ordinance #350
The Chief of Police or his/her designee shall be
responsible for enforcement and administration of this section, 18A.
1st Violation – SLP Police will
notify the licensee by mail so they can prevent further violations.
2nd Violation – within 12 months
of 1st violation, by same occupant or guest of the same
occupant, SLP Police will notify the licensee of violation by mail and
licensee will be required to submit a written report of the action taken
to prevent further violations. Report must be submitted to the Chief of
Police within 10 business days of Police notification to Licensee. If
not complied the Police Chief can request the City Council to begin an
action to deny, revoke, suspend, or not renew a license held by the
licensee
3rd Violation - within 12 months
of 2 previous violations, by same occupant or guest of the same occupant,
the Police Chief can request the City Council to begin an action to deny,
revoke, suspend, or not renew a license held by the licensee.
